The Big Shoot

Hair and Makeup Inspiration

A week away and there is so much organizing and preparation left to be done. I'm so psyched. It's going to be beautiful. Lower west side locations, sunset, modern rockabilly hair and makeup...delicious. I'm so tired of searching for things on my computer: models, hair, makeup, locations, e-mails. My eyes burn. This has turned out to be almost as exhausting as my fashion shows. The images are going to be bad ass though. Did I say that I have two-THREE photogs shooting this event. And my super supportive boyfriend is going to be filming it for a behind-the-scenes segment on my website. It's all coming together. So! Below are some collages I put together for the hair and makeup inspiration.

Lindsay Alicia Spring 2011 Menswear Forecast

Much of this inspiration, in no particular order, was gathered in Key West on a schooner
90 miles from Cuba. Photographs by yours truly.

Start with the cocks everywhere.
Land, sea, and sky leisure activities.

My fave shot. Red head in charcoal hoodie, wearing vertical striped shorts. I believe in the vertical stripe. Remember that.
Various sunsetting...

Ships as inspiration: Prints, graphics, etc.

Native American or New Zealand tribal tatt? Couldn't figure it out?
Anchors always for Resort/Spring Summer!
Lady pinups
Chris (left) & Christian aka Cheese (right), were kind enough to be my subjects. Thanks guys!
Ships definitely, Pirates (???)
Blowing the conch as the sun goes down.

Keywords: Leisure, beach, distressed, faded, shells, marine life, the sea, native, roots, dreadlocks, traveller, maps.

Go Fly a Kite

I saw a woman playing with her son on the beach in Key West and they both had these very small iridescent butterfly kites. First, I want to find those kites for myself. Second, kites are a great inspiration for seam lines, color blocking, and geometric shapes. For your inspiration and for mine...

Thanks a million... Getty Images for all the years of helping me express my inspiration. www.gettyimages.com

Things I love right now, too early in the morning.

All from Louis Vuitton's Spring 2010 Collection

Glasses are AMAZING and I want money to buy them. Now.
My favorite neckline...and I'm all about that for my collection.
Not a biter, just a lover.
This model is always stunning.
Delicious neckline again. "Loving" it too. ;)
Knitwear heaven. Can't see the stitches clearly but the color is almost iridescent.

Fat wale corduroy is all mine. Fuck off Vuitton! I called it.
I have a better idea than you, but I can't say,
you'll just have to wait and see what's up my sleeve.

Fall is my favorite season to design for, usually, but Spring is in the air and I almost forget how
intoxicatingly romantic it can be. Florals, soft pastels, femininity, .......????

Photoshoot

Planning a photo shoot for the beginning of May. What I'm cooking up is going to be amazing if all goes smoothly. Three to four models. Old school car, preferably a Cadillac. Sunset in NYC along the West Side Highway. Models posing all over the car. ROCKABILLY hair with a hip hop twist. Maffei Hair Salon from White Plains is going to do the hair and makeup so it's going to be sick. I cannot wait!

A little like this...
And this...
Definitely this...
Yeah...
You get it.
Just picture everything I said filled into these shots. Oh yeah.... ;)

Anthro's sister company... Leifsdottir

Anthropologie is consistently impressing me with their variety of loveliness. Usually I can't buy much from them at one time, but I'm especially broke these days. Anyway, are you familiar with their NEW sister company? Leifsdottir? Can't afford any of it but I damn sure wish I could. Here are some of the things I WISH I could buy...
Coogi much?

I mean REALLY. This is the same exact stitch idea.
Must be using their Aussie manufacturers.

P.S. I am a knitwear designer and I need a job. I would love to work for a company like Anthro or Leifsdottir. If you have a hook up....please pass me along. I'm a great knitwear designer. ;)
