Anthro's sister company... Leifsdottir

Anthropologie is consistently impressing me with their variety of loveliness. Usually I can't buy much from them at one time, but I'm especially broke these days. Anyway, are you familiar with their NEW sister company? Leifsdottir? Can't afford any of it but I damn sure wish I could. Here are some of the things I WISH I could buy...
Coogi much?

I mean REALLY. This is the same exact stitch idea.
Must be using their Aussie manufacturers.

P.S. I am a knitwear designer and I need a job. I would love to work for a company like Anthro or Leifsdottir. If you have a hook up....please pass me along. I'm a great knitwear designer. ;)

How do you feel about......?

Mixing and matching prints?

Layered Bathing suits? (Bikini peeking out of a cutout one piece bathing suit.) No pics found.

I love them all. And they'll be everywhere in 2011.

The Timberlake/Rast collabo rocked my world a little bit.

My personal favorites of the collection from Style.com.

Not only are these on the pulse of what I'm feeling about design direction these days, but it's fucking affordable! If I ever get paid, I'm gonna get me some of this!

Production, today?

I'm so excited. Today I'm meeting up with my sample maker from years ago to look into production for two of my pieces. Someday soon you will be able to buy my famous grey dress and one of my bodysuits. I'm excited and I really hope that this all goes smoothly. Can't wait! XOXO

Valentine's Day Promo Party for Crea'cions Salon & Day Spa

Had some fun this Saturday in White Plains. Showcased some of my collection at the Crea'cions Salon Event for Valentine's Day. Here's some footage from the show! First time putting this much of my collection on the internet.

Makes me wanna get my NAILS DID!

These shirts are becoming hard to find so if you see them on a site, buy them!

Not sure what the deal is with this company. In business anymore or not, they're shirts are hot. Couldn't love the eighties salon art style t-shirts more. Thinking about going to the nail spot and getting my nails did. ;)

Bodysuits, bodysuits, everywhere!

I started designing bodysuits as a focal point of my collection back in 2005. I have missed my wave of opportunity to push these babies because I'm not officially in business and everyone who is in business, is doing bodysuits. Makes me a little sick, a little pissed, and a little bummed that I wasn't more proactive in my game. Mostly, everyone is now tired of bodysuits and Lady Gaga is Ms. Queen Bodysuit. Neither one of those factors help me sell my collection. Anyway, on to the next! My knitwear will kill your bodysuits. Game on!

Forever 21? Is that you?

I came across these sweaters while searching the Forever 21 website and I am very impressed by the designs. Of course, in person these could look really cheap and sloppy. But maybe not... There's a HUGE Forever 21 on 34th St. near my job so I'll be checking to see if these are in stock in person before I consider buying them. As affordable as they are, you can't just throw money away if you buy the thing, wash it once, and it's done. This is usually the case with H&M and Forever 21 mass market type deals. Also, in a previous post, I put up a photo of one of their sweatshirts with a steer skull and feather graphic. Completely hot and I couldn't find it this time when I checked out the site. It's probably gone by now. www.forever21.com Shop it!

Bloomie's Appointment

So I have an appointment today to present my best samples to Bloomingdale's. I was the second to last person in line before the cut off. Got really lucky. I think it's a sign. Presentations end at 4pm so I'm almost last. Save the best for last. My knitwear will be impressive and I hope they'll appreciate the other pieces I bring as well. I'm nervous :/ I have no idea what this is really about. Does Bloomie's make an offer? Do they sponsor you to produce your collection? I found out about this through a knitwear friend I went to FIT with. She just passed along an e-mail and I felt prepared since I have so many pieces to choose from to share. At best, I will sell my collection to Bloomie's, become successful, and live happily ever after. At worst, I will get great advice and critiquing from some of the top dogs of merchandising: BLOOMINGDALE'S. I usually have anxiety issues and it will probably hit me right before and during the presentation. But I am oddly ok with it beforehand, which is rare. I have anticipation anxiety, but it's not kicking in yet. I hope it doesn't kick in at all so I can blow my audience away. Knock on wood.
